Benefits of taking the Hormonal imbalance quiz

By Kristen, Wellness Coach

Are your symptoms thyroid, adrenal, or hormonally related? What can you do to narrow it down? What potentially could be the best support system you can provide to give relief to your symptoms?

It’s frustrating not knowing the cause of your symptoms. I talk to women all the time who are overwhelmed by trying to understand which hormonal imbalance to address. This is especially difficult given that all hormonal imbalances have at least one overlapping symptom, including extremely common symptoms like fatigue, weight gain, joint issues, headaches or low libido.

To help, we offer many helpful quizzes that assess your symptoms for specific imbalances. But on more than one occasion I’ve been asked “Where do I start?” That’s when I recommend the Women’s Health Network Hormonal imbalance quiz.

Do you have a thyroid, adrenal or hormonal imbalance? Find out

Our 15-question Hormonal imbalance quiz is our overarching quiz that compares your symptoms to common symptoms of the most common imbalances — thyroid, adrenal or hormonal. Based on your results, the Quiz helps point you to a primary and sometimes a secondary imbalance as the cause of your symptoms. After taking the quiz, results are displayed along with recommendations to help you feel better.

4 overlapping symptoms

To give you an idea why the Hormonal imbalance quiz can be so helpful, here’s a list of common symptoms that are associated with thyroid, adrenal and sex hormone imbalance in perimenopause or menopause. See how many of them overlap:

The reason that so many symptoms overlap is that imbalances between the adrenal, thyroid, and sex hormones are connected by their root origins in the parts of the brain known as the hypothalamus and pituitary. Both help provide control for the increase and decrease of hormones released by the adrenals, thyroid, ovaries, and other endocrine tissues.

When one system gets thrown out of balance (for many women this begins with the effects of chronic stress on their adrenal glands), other systems can become disrupted. The feedback loops for each system interact with and affect the other two systems, which sometimes makes symptoms worse.

We’re here to discuss your results
Here’s an example of how the Hormonal imbalance quiz helped one woman who was struggling with symptoms of a thyroid issue. After taking the Thyroid Quiz, she called to discuss whether supporting her thyroid was the right choice. During our conversation, she said she struggled with stress and anxiety, sleep difficulties, fatigue, and weight loss resistance.

I brought up the subject of adrenal fatigue — an imbalance that many women don’t know about. I recommended then that she try taking our Hormonal imbalance quiz. For example, her issues may have begun with years of stress and her adrenal glands may have become imbalanced. This could certainly affect which her thyroid hormone and lead to troubling symptoms.

In fact, when I’m talking with women on the phone, I often recommend they take the quick Checker so we can determine together the best steps for support.
